Weather Widget in 10.3.9!

Posted in Mac OS X at 5:48 pm by Haris

Sameer has now updated his little weather widget, which you can have on your desktop, even if you are running 10.3.9, and not Tiger. Apparently, any widget that only needs Safari to run, and a lot of them do, can also be made to run in 10.3.9, properly updated. Here’s some screenshots to see how cool it looks. First, the plain widget, you can drag it anywhere on the desktop you want:

If you click in the image in the middle, you get a week-long forecast:

If you click at the bottom right, this customization menu shows up.

You can ask for lowest temperatures too.

As you can see, it’s getting hot in Chicago!

Um, does Sameer know it’s illegal to include Apple’s weather widget inside his bundle? (it’s part of Tiger, which costs $).

He might think it’s a trivial thing, but copyright infringement, especially when it comes to software, is something you don’t want to take lightly or else face the wrath of Apple’s legal if they hear about it.

Tell him to instead just load up the widget from the /Library/Widget path; should be easy, no?
